OCS2 mixed by Waffles
November 18, 2009 07:41 AM PST
Sorry to toot our own horns, but this is a mix we've been holding in the breadbasket for a WHILE and it's SERIOUSLY DOPE. Unlike those other SERIOUSLY DOPE San Francisco treats that leave you in The Mission with your pants down under the hot sun or in jail after a night of doing what you do, this should leave you comfy in your own crib. Zing! Sunburst Band Remixes mixed by Joey NegroSeptember 28, 2009 11:43 AM PDT
Dave Lee. Joey Negro. What more is there to say? For once we're not going to say anything and just let the mix do the talking, except to send BIG THANKS to the Man In The Middle of the phenomenon that is Z Records, Simon Purnell, for giving us permission for hosting this lovely, important mix. Ah, this mix takes us back to proper Monday sessions on Damen Avenue and wilin' out weeded Wednesday nights at Slick's and everything in between. This is a true Chitown Head in every sense of the term and someone we're proud to call a friend who educated and motivated. The man is always there to support the Windy City young bruvs and the old guard even on the coldest nights, and it can't be said how much he's contributed to this program quantitatively, but the connection and warmth are still there even after long times away from the Chi and thus His Friqueness. As it says early on most aptly, this is "something for your mind." So just let the deep get deeper as it cuts you, you'll dig it. Mix Discos Mutantes mixed by Miles MaedaSeptember 09, 2009 08:51 AM PDT
We've said it before and we'll say it again, those who speaketh of one Miles Maeda with sharp tongue are automatically laughed at by untold thousands, and we laugh heartiest here at The Toast at even the thought of such nonsensical rantings. That being said, this mix is sure to please our disco brethren and we stand in awe at not only the diversity of tunes Mr. Maeda can flawlessly mix, but the man in general. This was originally aired on Niklas' "Discos Mutantes" radio program this year, and although our rather selfish hearts chafe at sharing, our love for Miles and pretty much all things Spanish or Portugese wins the day. Links to all things mentioned above along with track listing can be found below. Enjoy mis mutantes! Discos Mutantes Radio Show: http://radio.myhouse-yourhouse.net/

Here at Toast Central, our team's been intricately involved with an up-and-coming night here in Seoul known as Space Academy, which features residents DJ_S, Mykian, and Keystoned. Going strong into its fourth party in new digs at The Hive, we at Sex Toast decided to release a mix representative of the early hours on these nights, when everyone's kind of wandering in wondering why the DJ is wearing a space suit and 3D shades. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a representation of these hours Before Crunk, or when the ship really hits the fan at our nights. Be sure to stay tuned for more mixes here & the others in the Space Academy collective as well as our special guests and affiliates.

This guy's got a rep from a lot of cats who know in the Bay Area, so when we got this mix, we simply had to put that bitch ON! Waffles has recieved his name I'm told from playing a lot of breakfast time techno, which does a booty good as everyone knows. Anyway, if you see anything more from this guy do let us know, and hopefully we'll meet him when we're around The Bay in October! DING! DING! Time to hop on the techno trolley and lose your shit! Make It Shake mixed by Delaney
August 13, 2009 07:31 AM PDT
Delaney has been sorely missed by us here at Toast Central, and by that we mean we fucking whiffed big time to the tune of about 2 months after recieving this quality mix. For that we give a run-around apology to be aired tonight on Fox News right between Bill Kritol swallowing his own tongue as per yoojzsh and more stories on the scary socialist bogeymen running amock in your high rent broke down palace hospitals. Anyway, here our man provides his own health care and hopes you can dance with that $3,500 cast on while we hold up a massive red banner that simply says "FREE" in one hand and a jagged, bloody syringe in the other. Big smiles!!! Sharing is caring!!! Who wants to get high?!? Your bill is below, which will be collected in due time...by your earifices.

This here is a tribute to our equalized love and hate for the rain, and the tracks we found while it was pelting errythang here in Asia over the past couple months. Consider it a celebration and a tribute to the wetness we all hate and need...and that's not just us pre-verts here at Toast Central. Water is a fackalife, and that's a new word. Both of these are things which youz need to deal with if there's probs with it.

On his second return to The Toast, 4Play delivers in his usual uptempo, funky style. This mix was given to us in a haze at our new and sexiest toastarific residency venue, The Hive. Master 4Play, Absolut, and PR Magazine surely delivered in other areas, but the most important thing is that The Hive be buzzin. This is the new underground for Seoul. Much like our own Toast, it's a venue where genres aren't important, but quality reigns supreme. Tired of bullshit electro wherevs ya go? The Hive knows how ya feel. Want to go to a club where you don't see some dipshit in a suit leaning over the booth? The Hive is keepin' it unreal. Anyway, check this mix, check the sites below, and realize that SOUL still be bumpin in Seoul.

We've been listening to this girl for a while, and she's been cuttin' into our hearts very consistently. We are very proud to present Cait Cut on our show for this week. This girl's been rockin' it about Ireland and makin' the poypul go nuts as a result. She has a fearless streak, naturally being Irish, and this mix shows. There's blatant disregard for genre, a penchant for throwing bass against the walls and watching it splatter, and a few mixes might also be strewn across the wall, we might add. You remember when you just went out to party to some wicked tunes and didn't start bitching like a puff every time the beats clashed? Well, let's take a step back from your too-smooth and too-boring electro set for a wee sec and appreciate some party music for once, shall we? Tracks listed end to start, just because:

Heretowith, we haven't quite posted something this dark, demented, and brilliant on Toast Central before. Call it what you want, but when your crew is lost in Tokyo and gets randomly invited to a party where you meet a guy who's running a great site, a couple Japanese Miss Universe finalists, Jimpster after he ripped your face off the night previous, and a massive amount of top quality people in one completely random-ass night, we at Toast Central call that magic. Maybe it was black magic, but meeting the former at that party tops the list of important things that happened that night, Jimpster and, biting our tongues here, potential Miss Japan honies be damned (sorry, Saemi...we love you)!!! For more on Hash and his wonderfully endless slew of electronically gifted villains, do check out either of the sites below:

Recorded LIVE at the Freakeasy, Chicago. Brad Owen, or, as our man Phillip Morrow called him back in the day, "DJ Lifestyle," was a major influence on us back in Chicago, and basically was one of the first to notice and utilize our Sexy Toast methodology on the decks, making our man DJ_S a staple monthly opener and a big part of the Smartbar operation for several years until the FBI finally caught up with us. Whoops! Off to Korea! Anyway, for you heads that love your old school house, this one's sure to tickle the fancy panties. Post Synthpunk Disco Days mixed by DJ Total M
June 29, 2009 05:18 AM PDT
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...we like DJ Total M, and his gracing of the decks here in Seoul last month was a true audio treat all the over eighteens could enjoy. We hope to have him back sooner rather than later. Tonight's mix is his latest venture, and we couldn't be more tits out to have him as a return guest here on Toast Central. For more of the past, present, and future from Total M and his pal Miles Maeda, do check out the links below and maybe seek a couple of the cuts we've listed if you want some really juicy quality.

Yes, yes! Time for summer soul classics and deep jammin on rooftops, porches, patios, and wherever else you can burn meat and hopefully the gubmint in due time. At any rate, we recommend relaxing, sating, getting blazed and hopefully lighting the last joint of the night in the company of something sexually appealling in your hand whilst s/he lights the molotov and tosses in front of a bank, "suffering" massive entity that laid your ass off, or other symbol of crumbing & corrupt "governance by the people." Wait until the last part to do that, then whistle the dusk away happily skipping whilst holding hands as the sirens distantly blare away towards a part of town that knows little of what you've inflicted. Bring the kids if you have to, but not on a school night. Cuts listed lowerly! 1. Kool & the Gang - Summer Madness

This cat...I mean, THIS FUCKIN' CAT. He breaks it. These are possibly the funkiest, most soulful breaks we've heard in a while, and we couldn't be more honored to have this true West Coast soul warrior on our cast. Be sure to check his links below, because it's less a group of webpages than an endless funk vortex. Do check Mr. Massure's releases on Spring Strut and elsewhere. This cat's no joke, and we're glad to inaugurate this Hero of the Toast for this week. Hopefully he'll be back! Links & tracks below! Danny Massure:

Who better to open up for legendary MC & Producer Tricky than our own Chitown homeboy DJ Striz? Not many, by our highly un-scientific yet exceedingly accurate estimates. If you have an eclectic and otherwise non-linear giant of electronic music coming into Chicago, you'd better call the Striz Line. That's all we're sayin. The first episode in our Double Feature for this week, please open your ears and your mind to our returning Hero of the Toast. We can only hope to link with him when we're back Chiside. BZZZZZZZZZZZT! Recollect mixed by DJ Ryan Scott
April 06, 2009 07:28 AM PDT
Time to fish deep into the recesses of your mind and wonder a few things about house, kids. That is, so I wasn't born in 1964, why can't I be into "real house" like some of the old-timers say? Not to villainize the originators, but remember that the 1990's were when Chicago became the House of Lords before Barack Obama. The second generation of Chicago house represented very well and still does, thank you very much. Ryan Scott returns for his Hero of the Toast trifecta, dedicating this one to anyone who enjoyed that era and wants to recollect that ish. Trax that you forgot about but still live below! 01. warfare (chez damier underground mix) - chez & ron

Tonight The Toast breaks the champagne bottle on the bow of our first rock cast in a while, and we can't thank The Fist enough for letting us put this lovely blast monster on the show. The Fist had a short lifespan. Maybe it was the fisticuffs-oriented pornography, or the whiskey bottle-wielding bb gun fights, or possibly the firework wakeup calls. Either way, you should definitely check out The Fist and their debut funereal album here, or download it through myspace, because that's where all the kids hand out nowadays. Along with Sigourney Weaver...RRRRRRRRRROWR! We digress, TRAXX! 1. Orca
March 18, 2009 08:51 AM PDT
Hey, long time no see! Well, we're sure you are not going to be disappointed by this mix from the official Guru of the Toast, and a man that can truly make the world evolve, as it were. He's been massaging our brains with some of the smoothest, most diverse mix stylings for years and years, and it comes as no surprise to hear the absolute quality embodied in this exclusive gem from our main man. We cannot thank Total M enough for his brilliant services from here to eternia, and we hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we did. Don't worry about the future, kids. We'll be back weekly from here to eternia... Exist Stage Right mixed by DJ_S

The first half of this mix was originally aired 12 January 2009 on TBS eFM courtesy of Stuart Reece's "Rough Around The Edges" program. We've decided that half an hour just ain't doin' this mix right, and have thus patched an extra 40 minutes of fun to it. Tracks!
February 09, 2009 08:16 AM PST
This isn't a mix about your fam, so get over that shit. It is, however, by a guy who's definitely become fam in the very short while that he's been here in Korea via our nights together bumpin' it in Seoul at Sensation and elsewhere. Russtafari is a great DJ with an incredible ear for quality. However, it's sad to see him and his talents take off for the shores of Thailand after a rather short stay in Seoul, and we'll truly miss his amazing mixes and energy. For those of you doin' ya thing in Bangkok, you're gaining a special talent and an all-around great guy. For those of you in Seoul, time to start searching for his equal. Since that's not gonna happen, maybe it's time to just fire up that lame Tom Cruise remake of Mission Impossible while you cry and masturbate. We'll be doing the same, sans Tom Cruise, tears, or busy arms. Tracks!

We're truly honored to have a live mix from the man we consider to be Montreal, hell, Canada's deepness authority. Jojo Flores, his Therapy radio show, and Gotsoul Recordings have been monumental contributors to the deep house we all love, and he's been travelling the world spreading the sound to anyone that has the smarts to listen attentively and dance inapproapriately or otherwise. For any of you unfortunate enought to be unfamiliar, please follow the linkage to the website below where Jojo can keep you up-to-date on all of his exploits around the world, along with the fabulous releases Gotsoul has been pumpin past, present, and future. Remember that "know" is not a verb you normally put in the continuous, you either do or you don't. Linkage: http://www.jojoflores.com Live 2x4 at Smartbar mixed by Wasted Chicago YouthJanuary 28, 2009 03:24 AM PST
Ah yes, it's time to take a trip to the official favorite basement of this here program and find two fellows that have been instrumental in the formation of this program. Wasted Chicago Youth is the production duo of long-time Smartbar resident Justin Long and Chitown veteran producer Mazi. This is a special two DJ, four turntable set of sheer bumpy madness, which surely you'd expect coming from these two playing together. At any rate, do look out for this fierce and ruthlessly independent crew's new "Cuckoo Clocked" on Fresh Meat Records, which should be easy to find at a friendly neighborhood vinyl dealer near you! Check the myspace page, suckas!

We've witnessed many a tour-de-force on this bitch, but none quite as impressive as this 50 track, 79 minute homicide by a couple of true break warriors. Mr. Fudge has become a true friend of the Sexy Toast, and we can't be more grateful for his provision of this mix du maximum. For further info/bookings/sexual favor deliveries, you can contact the DJ's at the emails below. If you see either of these fools on a flyer (which you will...A LOT), you'd be best advised to go!

John Denver & The Muppets - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
January 11, 2009 01:24 AM PST
Okay, so it's been a while since we started doing the guest mix series, and we have to admit that things have gotten a bit off track. However, it's time to start getting back to the roots of Sexual Toast, which is making you do it while you smoke weed and hate the gubmint. That was our mission, and we stand by our Three Principles of Totally Awesome Things To Do, tomatoes thrown in hostility or not! At any rate, we reiterate...music makes you do it, it's a simple fact. That's why we're putting together the entire process for you tonight. How did you go from buying flowers for that girl to wondering why she stole your car? What was that rather ethnic hooker yelling about Velen-times Day when you left her at 52nd St & 6th Ave on her back? Why, oh why, couldn't you get it up last night? With this mix, it doesn't matter. The fact is, it happened, so let's stop crying while masturbating and start dancing again, yeah?

Tonight our mix series takes us to the far off shores of Hong Kuh-Kong Kong Kong for a mix from a dear old friend that you're sure not to forget. It's funny that both of us grew up in the Midwest amongst the same hooligan crew yet didn't meet until our corporate adventures in the Far East. Shouts go out to the go-go shows of Thailand, Korean package tours, and the Midwest still rulin' the roost at Sinchon Center. Remember this: When you go out in Singapore, don't wear shorts.
January 11, 2009 12:56 AM PST
Okay, so we feel guilty that we didn't give our main girl a full hour on the last episode she graced the decks, but we're making up and out for that in time lost. We don't forget our troops. Anyway, we thought we'd help everyone let go during a week of massive tension in our parts, so this is our second contribution to the election. Needless to say, we're more than happy that we were dancin' live and not in our dreams election-wise, but it must be said we're sorry that we got distracted and posted this to you late if you haven't checked it out yet. Spicy Soup Set Trippin' mixed by DJ_S (recorded live at Joker Red, Seoul)
January 11, 2009 12:50 AM PST
Korea quiz time, kids! What is 찌개 (Jjigae)? Is it: a) A spicy mix of vegetables and red pepper soup that warms the souls of countless Koreans and foreigners living here OR b) A wonderfully eclectic night put on monthly by DJ Ladybird and friends at Joker Red in the Hongdae area of Seoul? The answer is, of course, BOTH!
